The Once and Future Green Factory, Joe Jez
Recognizing plant biology offers a host of scientific problems with day-to-day relevance, including how plants grow and respond to their environment, he began to study biochemical networks in plants and microbes. His aim is to engineer those systems to address agricultural and environmental problems and find solutions to real-world problems.
Joe Jez is an Associate Professor of Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. Challenging his students and the scientific community o look at plants different, Joe’s research focuses on using plants as environmental clean-up tools to solve some of our world’s toughest challenges.
