Rudy Nickens interviews Ron Himes, who shares the story of The Black Rep, a Theatre of Soul Company he founded in 1976 while still a student at Washington University. He has produced and directed more than 200 plays at The Black Rep, including all 10 plays written by August Wilson. Over the years, he's received several accolades and accomplishments in providing a platform for creative expression from the African-American perspective. Ron Himes is the Founder and Producing Director of The Black Rep, a Theatre of Soul since 1976. It's mission is to provide platforms for theatre, dance, and other creative expressions from the African-American perspective that heighten the social and cultural awareness of its audiences.
