We’re excited to welcome you to TEDxStLouis: Curiosity 2025 on Saturday, May 31, at the Missouri History Museum. Whether you’re a TEDx first-timer or a returning guest, this email has everything you need to know to make the most of your evening.

Getting There

Address: Missouri History Museum, 5700 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, MO

Parking: Free parking is available in the museum’s two main lots and across from the tennis center in the Twin Lots. Street parking is also available throughout Forest Park. While the park experienced storm damage recently, all museum facilities and nearby lots are open and ready for guests.

When to Arrive

We recommend arriving at 6:00 PM, when doors open. The first hour of the event is a curated experience you won’t want to miss, featuring exhibits, music, drinks, and a one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt.

6:00–7:00 PM | Happy Hour + TEDx Scavenger Hunt

Start the evening with a drink in hand and curiosity in mind.

  • Explore museum exhibits selected to inspire thought and conversation

  • Join the COCAbiz TEDx-style Scavenger Hunt

  • Pick up your “passport”

  • Visit select exhibits hosted by past TEDx speakers and museum experts

  • Collect stamps for a chance to win tickets to our fall event

Grab a bite before the talks begin. Amighetti’s will be on-site with food for purchase (cash and cards accepted).


7:00–8:30 PM | Mainstage Talks & Live Music

The main program begins promptly at 7:00 PM and runs for 90 minutes with no intermission. This is a live-recorded event, so we ask for your full attention and cooperation.

Please note:

  • Late arrivals and mid-show exits will be held outside the theater until a natural break between speakers

  • No food is permitted inside the Lee Auditorium

  • Drinks with lids are allowed inside the Lee Auditorium

  • Access to cellular and Wi-Fi service may be limited while in the theater

Here’s your SPEAKER LINEUP, in order of appearance:

Sean Savoie – “A Well-Placed Light”: A lighting designer and professor explores how lighting influences our moods, health, and sense of space, often without us realizing it.

Lauren Miller – “A Case for High School Statistics”: An engaging math educator argues for making statistics the most important math class in school today, equipping students with real-world insight and agency.

Yemi Akande-Bartsch – “Leadership: What Problem Are You Solving?”: The CEO of FOCUS St. Louis invites us to reframe leadership by rethinking the problems we choose to solve.

Entertainment: The Red and Black Brass Band, blending jazz, funk, and soul with St. Louis flair, this high-energy ensemble brings the rhythm between talks.

Justin Grubb – “Beyond the Lawn: Inviting Nature Home”: A wildlife ecologist and filmmaker shares how planting native species can help restore ecosystems—starting in your own backyard.

Tabari A. Coleman – “The Anatomy of Candor”: A speaker and consultant explores how honest dialogue and self-awareness can transform relationships, workplaces, and communities.

What to Wear

There’s no dress code. TEDx is about ideas, not attire, so come comfortable and be yourself.

Important Guidelines for Attendees and Media:

Video & Audio Recording: Unauthorized recording of the stage talks (including video, livestreaming, or audio capture) is not permitted under TEDx global guidelines to ensure the integrity of official event recordings.

Photography: Audience photography is allowed but must be respectful. Please do not block others’ views, remain seated, and avoid interfering with our official event photographers or videographers.

Flash & Disruptions: No flash photography or equipment that could distract or interrupt speakers or audience members is permitted during talks or performances.

Media Equipment: Please note that a malt box (audio feed connection) will not be available at this event.

Speaker Access: Speakers will not be available for interviews or media access before or during the show. However, they may be available for brief interviews or interactions after the show wraps up.
